In a recent article written by Stacey Higginbotham, we are estimated to generate about 1.3 zettabytes by the year 2016. The amount of data is 4 times greater than the amount being generated today. From businesses to residential areas, the amount of data being generated is increasing tremendously. Latest developments in technology such as smartphones, tablets, and internet-enabled TV are also contributing the generate data. The predicted increase in data means an increase of servers and other equipment to support the data. This web addiction as the author phrased it, is only going to increase even more.
