Tidbit: When getting dressed gets technical....

Socks don't match? Can't find your favorite pair? Your sock worries are over.

"Smarter Socks" is technology created by Samy Liechti of the Blacksocks company, a high-brow, luxury European sock subscription service of which provides annual supply of quality sock wear. The company branched out into the US market in 2009, as well as expanding into a line of underwear, t-shirts, and athletic socks.

The company continues their stellar repetition with their latest innovation, "Smarter Socks". The magic socks, track your sock wearing statistics through RFID chip system inserted in the sock that will track things such as how many times you've worn a pair of socks, which socks match, how often you clean your socks, when your socks were produced, as well as the location of the place of which your socks were produced.

Your "Smarter Sock" data is all displayed through the "Sock Sorter" app available for iPhones and iPads through Apple's App Store.

"The Smarter Socks" will cost $189, which buys a 10-pack of the socks and the scanner that collects the data from the RFID chip implanted in the sock.

Check out the video below which explains "The Worlds Smartest Socks".

Just Scratching the Surface

Microsoft is preparing for the unveiling of their newest venture, the Surface. Apart from offering all of the luxury items standard with tablets (social media email, apps, etc), the Surface will offer full compatibly with MS Office, Outlook, and numerous other small business programs that have been the bread and butter of Microsoft since the beginning.

Office 365 Small Business Premium is a new program Microsoft's arsenal that will sell for $12.50 per user per month, or $149.99 annually. The Small Business Premium is aimed at businesses that have no more than 10 users. Each user could access Office 365 on up to five PCs, tablets or Apple Mac computers. Features also include 25GB of Outlook e-mail storage, 10 GB of cloud storage, the ability to host online meetings and operate a public-facing Web site with no additional hosting fees. Microsoft has not been as specific about the pricing for the tablet itself saying that it will be between $199 and $800 which is extremely broad. That range for the average American family could either be groceries for the week or paying a mortgage so only time will tell the bottom line but we will bet it is closer to the $500 price tag of their favorite rival's tablet.

Wallet Woes

Big wallet hurting your big butt? No worries Apple can fix that too! That's right, Wednesday, Apple is expected to introduce the highly anticipated new iPhone, which will include Passbook a new "digital wallet" app that can store several credit cards plus digital coupons, tickets and loyalty cards. The iPhone, as well as the iPod Touch and iPad, will have the new iOS 6 software that will drive the devices. For owners of older Apple devices the new iOS 6 software will be available as a free upgrade to effectively modernize your existing device.

There has been much talk in the past few years about turning phones into digital wallets that would allow people use their phones to surf the Internet, make calls and pay for lattes and muffins. Visa, MasterCard, Starbucks, Google, Square, PayPal, Intuit and others have been working feverishly to make mobile payments a way of life, but the practice has yet to go mainstream, because businesses are waiting for it to become more widespread.

Analysts expect the new iPhone to come with a bigger screen, spiffier design, a faster processor and improved camera."With Passbook, you can scan your iPhone or iPod Touch to check in for a flight, get into a movie and redeem a coupon," Apple says on its website. "You can also see when your coupons expire, where your concert seats are and the balance left on that all-important coffee bar card."

Apple Picking Season

*One concept of what iPhone 5 might look like
It is almost here appleheads! Apple is gearing up for the release of the iPhone 5 that is sure to capture the attention of many, and the pay checks of even more. Equipped with iOS 6, a faster processor, and a “modern unibody casing” of one kind or another. This new device will have a 4-inch display and will be about 15% thinner than the iPhone 4S, and will run with blazing 4G LTE data speed.

Some quick projects for iPhone 5 have been calculated by comparing the date of the iPhone 4S's sales.  The iPhone 4S sold 1 million pre-orders in the first 24 hours – with the iPhone 5, Apple expects to run through 1.3 to 1.5 million pre-orders in that same 24 hour period.  The iPhone 4S, 4 million units sold in the first three days of it being on sale. With the iPhone 5,  Apple expects this number to move up between 5 and 5.5 million units. In September alone Apple plans to sell between 10 and 12 million iPhone 5 devices, lucky for them it's Apple season and lucky for us they will all look great with our YUBZ Retro Handsets!
