Rev Up Your Morning Routine

Take a second to think about your morning routine, before you eat breakfast. Now think of how your morning routine affects your energy level as you proceed to completing your tasks for the day.

According to the book "What the Most Successful People Do Before Breakfast" starting your day with a productive or fulfilling activity can increase your alertness and energy level for the rest of the day. Author Laura Vanderkam found that many high achievers often began their day with physical, spiritual, and intellectual activities. These include praying, meditation such as yoga, running, or spending time with the family during breakfast.

Not sure how to break from your current routine? Vanderkam suggests the following steps: tracking your time and taking note of how your routine affects your energy level, envisioning your day starting off on a good note then making it happen, and starting off small until you develop the habit.

Having a good day doesn't have to depend on the weather, on the attitude of others, or even the universe. All you need to do is follow these simple steps and you'll be on your way to having more great days.
