Last week, San Francisco's board of supervisors approved a new law which requires cell phone retailers to disclose information regarding cell phone radiation. Retailers would have to show that cell phones emit radio frequencies and distribute fact sheets containing information relevant to consumers. This law serves as a positive step towards educating the public about cell phones risks. There seems to be a disagreement regarding the potential risks of cell phones. This law might not be too popular with cell phone retailers who believe there are no risks to cell phone users, and there is not enough evidence to prove them wrong. As more studies are conducted and a general consensus is reached concerning the potential risks of cell phones, more cities will begin to adopt the same rules San Fran established.
